We are decidedly a missional congregation. We've also been told we are a genuinely warm and welcoming congregation. We are grateful for all of this, because we understand welcome and hospitality to be gifts of God's Spirit - and evidence of a promise kept.
Perhaps so many have decided to make First UMC their spiritual, "home," because we seek to be a fellowship as diverse as God's creation. Elder and young, rich and poor - we come; Christian pilgrims of many years, the weary, the overwhelmed, the hopeful, and curious - we come; In connection with brothers and sisters around the world, embracing the best of tradition and today while praying and planing for tomorrow - we come; Together, we represent many faith traditions - and - no tradition at all - still we come; We are culturally, ethnically, linguistically diverse, yet we come to praise God together, because Christ calls us to be One, not the same.
Perhaps you will find your spiritual "home," at First UMC. Come and see !
